Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Movie To Earn $60M On Opening Weekend

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 movie might just get a $60 million gross in its opening weekend, surpassing Paramount's estimates of a $50 to $55 million gross on its weekend launch, Boston Herald reported.

On Friday, the latest Paramount Picture offering, earned $4.6 million at Thursday's opening with Friday's estimates putting it on top of the Guardian's of the Galaxy which is predicted to make up to $46 million on its second week.

Although reviews are not so kind on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 movie, cinemagoers are actually lining up to see the pizza-loving ninja turtles popularized in the 1990s. 

Reviews were harsh calling the movie as "unfunny and incoherent," despite funnyman Will Arnett joining the cast.

Despite its failings, the estimated earnings has made it a blockbuster during its opening weekend.

The movie, made on a whopping budget of $125 million, is drawing more moviegoers as expected. The Megan Fox -starring reptile movie have been promoted heavily by Paramount Pictures. The aggressive marketing appeared to have paid off.

The Boston Herald in its article stated that rebooted movie, produced by Michael Bay, obtained their appeal from the 1990's films, toy lines and TV shows.

The new film, according to estimates will also outperform the 1993's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie III.

Despite a high grossing weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy still broke record by scoring a $94. 3 million weekend debut.

According to CNN, "Guardians," was the third top biggest opening for this year. Transformers: Age of Extinction had a $100 million opening weekend, followed by marvel's Captain America with $95 million.

This week's movie, about disaster "Into the Storm," by Warner Bros, grossed $6 million Friday, Disney-DreamWorks'   "The Hundred-Foot Journey" got  $4 million on Friday and Summit's  dance movie "Step Up All In" with a $3 million opening.
