LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers Forever? The King Will Retire In His Hometown! 'I'm Not Going Anywhere!'

LeBron James knows that Cleveland fans will be hard to convince. Once agains, he gives another spate of assurances to his hometown that this gig is for keeps.

Speaking at a press conference covered by ESPN:

"I don't plan on going anywhere. I don't have the energy to do it again."

The best way to prove that once and for all is to place that in writing. Given that he's a free agent, the longest would be a four-year contract. How about no player options? If LeBron signs a contract like that, it would silence the skeptics. But he didn't.

ESPN explains: "James structured his contract with the Cavs to allow him to again enter free agency after each of the next two seasons, but implied Friday that was a maneuver to take advantage of the league's next television contract, when max salaries could increase dramatically."

"At the end of the day I'm a businessman as well, and I know what's going on in our league."

He also talked about Kevin Love and what he could bring to the team, but then he backtracked a little:  "I always told him he was going to be the reason we won the gold medal. He played a huge role for us. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it happens and everything is done right from the league rules. It's a great piece."

To be safe, he made a short rundown of his teammates:

"I love Kyrie [Irving]'s game; I think he can be one of the best point guards in our league. I love the chip on Dion [Waiters]' shoulder. Everyone else sees it as a negative, but I look at it as a positive and I look forward to getting with him. I love how active Tristan [Thompson] is. You give me nine Andy [Varejaos] and I'll be the 10th guy ... I understand it's going to be a process. I'm going to have to teach and lead and inspire those guys."

So LeBron know his Cleveland basketball, even though it has changed a lot in recent years. Will it change again? It seems like only LeBron knows the answer to that.
