iPhone 6 Rumors: Apple Logo Reportedly Made Out Of Liquid-metal Alloy To Protect It From Scratches, Camera Will Get Protruding Design

With Apple's upcoming event fast approaching, expect more iPhone 6 rumors, leaks and alleged specs details to be revealed in the coming days.

As for the latest of these rumors, the Apple smartphone will reportedly be more durable and resistant against scratches in part due to the material used for the Apple logo at the back.

In the report by BGR, website Feldvolk mentioned that the upcoming version of the iPhone 6 will get a liquidmetal substance instead of the usual material. This would mean that the Apple logo will be more resistant to accidental scratches caused by coins, keys and the like.

In addition to the improved Apple logo material, the new iPhone would reportedly get a new design for the camera as well. In the report, the smartphone's camera will allegedly get a protruding ring design. There are two reasons why cameras in smartphones get a protruding camera lens - either it protects a thicker and higher resolution camera lens, or it is just all for aesthetic purposes.

While we are certainly gearing towards the first reason, Apple may opt for the latter as previous reports and rumors claim that the Apple smartphone's camera will only be improved, but it would remain at 8 megapixels.

The Apple iPhone 6 is certainly shaping up to be one of the most awaited smartphones not only for this year, but since 2007 when the first iPhone was introduced.

A couple of years back, some people argued that the Cupertino manufacturer should have followed the trend right away and released an iPhone with at least 4 inches of screen real estate. However, Apple decided to weather out the storm, and jump into the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch categories.

We'll see during Apple's launch whether the company can keep its momentum in smartphone sales even in unfamiliar territory.
