Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date Hitting Xperia E1 And E1 Dual, Gets Updated Sony Apps, Faster Performance, Stamina Mode

The Sony Xperia E1 and E1 Dual are not exactly the most popular models in the smartphone world today, but for Android fans who have purchased these compact handsets and have been waiting for the Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date, your wait is finally over.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the music playing-smartphones will now get the Kit Kat treatment, though actually receiving the update may take a matter of days depending on the region.

In the report, one of the changes brought by Android 4.4 includes a much smoother experience, which is a key strength of Kit Kat as it aims to bring a standard Android experience even to entry-level devices.

Other improvements include some updated Google and Sony apps such as the Walkman app, an improved status bar, and quick toggles.

If you are a power user, then you would certainly love Stamina Mode that comes with the update. It allows your phone to save more juice as much as possible to prevent missing important notifications.

The update also adds the support to transfer apps from the built-in storage to the microSD card. With only 4GB to spare, the Xpeira E1 and E1 Dual certainly need this feature. We just wonder why Google has taken out this feature in the latest versions of Android.

In case you want a quick rundown of the Sony Xperia E1 specs, one of the upcoming Sony phones for 2014 packs a 4-inch display with 840 x 400 resolution, 512MB RAM, a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, a Snapdragon 200 and 4GB of internal memory.

The phone gets an entry-level 3.15MP primary camera and Adreno 302 for discrete graphics performance.

In the report, the Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date would arrive to the Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Dual in the coming weeks.
