Jeremy Lin News: 'Linsanity' Star's Stint With Lakers Will Prove If He Is An All-Star Caliber Player

All the latest Jeremy Lin news talk about his future with the Lakers as the team's primary floor general in the years to come.

However, before we even get that far, Lin should first take care of business in the upcoming NBA season.

With the Western Conference still strong with the Spurs, Thunder, Rockets and Mavs getting the nods as sure locks in the Playoffs, Los Angeles need to step it up in their campaign and prove their doubters.

As far as doubters are concerned, Lin is certainly not short of those.

After a stellar campaign with the New York Knicks which brought him at the top of the NBA during his Linsanity stretch, Lin has not been the same in his recent Rockets team.

Houston had great expectations from the Harvard stud, and it showed with its enormous contract, though at the last minute before the 2013 season began, GM Morey did the unthinkable, get then reigning sixth man of the year James Harden. That certainly did it for Lin as that meant he would not get enough touches to actually run the offense in Houston.

However, that may soon change with the Lakers. While Lin is a crowded backcourt consisting of veteran Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Xavier Henry and Jordan Clarkson, the former Knick star could be one of the better floor generals in the lineup as Nash continues to diminish in terms of health.

This is a time he can prove doubters, and everyone wrong about him. He can prove that he can work alongside one of the league's best in Bryant, and be able to improve the play of his teammates.

The Laker frontcourt is pretty crowded itself, and that may be beneficial for the offense Lin loves to play - a high octane offense that will shred defenses and and bring team plays as the top priority.

The 25-year-old star is running out of time, and this year with Lakers could be his only year wearing purple and gold if he messes it up.
