Andrew Wiggins Confessed He Wanted The Trade To Happen; Anticipates Starring Role In Minnesota! First Overall Pick Wishes 'The Worst Luck On Anyone Who Bet Against Him!'

Andrew Wiggins was long thought to be the victim of circumstance in the Kevin Love saga. A player good enough to be traded for Love but not good enough for LeBron to win a championship with. Shed no tears for the first overall pick since he confides that he actually wanted the trade.

A young chap with a chip on his shoulder airs these words on his Instagram photo:

The Associated Press filed the report with the statement from Kansas coach Bill Self:

"When all this trade stuff started, I talked to Andrew and Andrew told me, “I hope I get traded,” Self said. “And I’m like, ‘No you don’t.’ And he said, “Coach, I do. It’s better for me, knowing my personality and what I need to do, to go somewhere where I’m forced to be something as opposed to going in there where they’re going to be patient with me and I’m going to be a piece.” …

“Even though in a weird way everybody would love the opportunity to play with LeBron because you’re guaranteed winning for the longevity of his career, he needs to develop that mindset to be the guy, for him to be great, and I think being Minnesota will help him do that.”

There were insinuations that Wiggins was talented but sometimes lacked the motivation. Perhaps the trade will ignite the spark within him that he has to work in order to survive in the NBA no matter how talented he is.

Meanwhile, ESPN reported that the rumored discontinued jerseys were somewhat true. The details:

"A spokesman for Fanatics, which also services the NBA’s online store, said Thursday that the company — which specializes in on-demand customization — actually never made the No. 21 Wiggins Cavs jerseys that fans ordered from the sites.

Spokesman Meier Raivich said the site had up until a month after Wiggins signed (until Aug. 23) to deliver the jerseys, but as reports swirled that Wiggins could be traded in a deal for the Timberwolves’Kevin Love, as was confirmed Thursday, the company decided to be cautious and not print the replicas."

That turned out to be a prudent business move.
