Halo 5 Release Date ‘Guardians’ Delay? Xbox One Trailer Gameplay Excluded From Gamescom 2014 Lineup [NEWS]

Halo 5: Guardians was not listed for the official Gamescom 2014 lineup, leaving many series fans believing the game will experience a release date delay.

David Ellis of 343 Industries recently purchased Oculus Rift and posted about it on Twitter, spurring rumors about the likelihood of virtual reality features for the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians release date.

"I have my Oculus DK2. What are the absolute best optimized demos I should download for this thing?"he posted on Twitter.

Halo Escalations comics issue number 8 has revealed information about the Halo 5: Guardians' release date trailer setting-the story takes off from Master Chief's arrival at Requirm where he defeats Didact, loses Cortana and then goes back to UNSC to report on the matter, Segment Next reports.

Halo 5: Guardians will include Agent Locke, the star of Ridley Scott's Halo: Nightfall, as a character for the game.

The game will have a different Xbox One game engine from The Master Chief Collection, 343 Industries Franchise Director Frank O'Connor said during a recent interview.

"Not technically. It's a blend of legacy and some proprietary code. H5 is on a different schedule and couldn't be branched for this," he said when reassuring gamers it will not have the same game engine as its predecessor.

Halo 5: Guardians, which was scheduled to launch later in 2014, may have been delayed until the fourth quarter of 2015, Breathe Cast reports.

"The game is set to launch exclusively on the Xbox One platform  and is being developed by the same makers of Halo 4. Fans  were anticipating a release date sometime this year, but due to undisclosed production issues, it has in fact been pushed back," the website writes.

343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to help develop a new proect line for Halo, sparking gossip there may be a possible Xbox One and Playstation 4 spin-off in the works.

The company posted the job listing late last month.

Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One will have features that are expected to blow the minds of fans, 343 Industries expert Bonnie Ross said during an interview.

"Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen," she said, according to Breathe Cast.
