Moto 360 Release Date Leaked, Price, And Specs: Metal Or Leather Bands, Wireless Induction Charging, Motorola Says Smartwatch To Be Released Alongside the Moto X+1 (Moto X2) [PHOTO]

The Moto 360 may have a September 25 release date. According to a new report the Moto X+1 Smartphone will be released on September 25, and most industry analysists expect the phone to be released alongside the smartwathc.

In February 2014, Motorola confirmed that a new smartwatch would launch alongside the new Moto X. The smartwatch is now known as the Moto 360, but there is not much official information on it. According to rumors, the Moto 360 has either a metal or plastic body, has a 1.88-inch screen, and is 13.5 mm thick.

When the watch was shown on screen at the Google I/O Developers Conference in June, it did appear to have a brush metal finish.

If news that the watch is plastic is accurate, then the Moto 360 might not be a very high-end device.

The Moto 360 is supposedly charged via a Qi wireless charger, and can last longer than 48 hours on one charge. At the very least wireless charging has been confirmed, as pictures of the wireless charger leaked last week.

The wireless charging rumors could be accurate because the watch was deliberately made thicker than its current competitors in order for wireless charging to work.

The Moto 360 also has IP67 certification, which means that it is dust and water resistant.

Operating system wise, the Moto 360 will run Android Wear OS.

According to Droid Life, the Moto 360 and Moto X will be launched on September 25.

Motorola will be taking a different route from Samsung and LG when it comes to the watch's shape, choosing a circle instead of a rectangle.

The Moto 360 will be sporting an OLED display.

Unlike Samsung's Galaxy Gear that can only sync with other Samsung devices, the Moto 360 won't be restricted to just the Moto X or the Moto G. The Motorola watch will be compatible with any Android device that can run Android 4.4.3, 4.4.4, and the to-be-released Android L.

Google has been innovative about how the watch charges. It doesn't have any micro USB ports or charging jacks, instead charging via magnetic 'Qi' induction. Naturally, any physical charging ports would make the watch look unsightly and apparent, the Qi charging method will be a feature that sets the watch apart from its competitors.

The Moto 360 will have a premium price of probably $350 but Motorola is hinting that it would just be priced at $250. It is unlikely that the watch will sell for a lower price because of its Sapphire glass protection and wireless charging features.

Motorola still hasn't announced an official release date but again, they did say that it will come out at the same time as the Moto X+1, and the Moto X+1 release date was just leaked to be Septembber 25. Check back often for more information as it becomes available.
