Things are looking up for the King of Atlantis! After "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder stood up for him in a radio show, we have news that he's getting his own movie. Predicting that Warner might go the same route as Marvel, Aquaman may take the announced March 2018 release date.

Writers Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300) have been tapped to write their own scripts (meaning two separate scripts) for an upcoming Aquaman film.

While this has been becoming a common practice, they will not escape the humor of the internet. Funny comment from a reddit forum: "Warner will then decide which one will be used and which one will be leaked on the internet and passed off as written by Kevin Smith." This refers to the recent "Batman V Superman" script leak fiasco that involved the writer/director/fanboy. He has since denied involvement.

The scribes are writing - separately - scripts forAquaman, one of the installments in Warner Bros.' multimovie scheme to create a cinematic universe based on the DC Entertainment characters.

Aquaman is being developed on dual tracks, where studios and producers hire two separate writers to work on the same project in the hopes of getting the best version. The practice allows for release dates to be set while a project is still in development while giving it a muscular push. Warners needs just that as last week it dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020.

Warners is not revealing which one of those will be Aquaman, but the first untitled DC movie is due for release on Aug. 5, 2016, with two more due in 2017, on June 23 and Nov. 17, respectively."

The three untitled movies are expected to be Justice League, Wonder Woman and The Flash/Green Lantern which logically places Aquaman on the next playdate, March 2018. However, it could still change and considering Aquaman has already been cast (Jason Momoa) and now the writers are in consideration, it could move ahead of Flash/Green Lantern. This is just speculation, of course.
