Lauren Bacall, one of the most legendary actresses from the Golden Age of film, has passed away after suffering a major stroke at the age of 89.

Renown for her classic beauty, sultry looks, and unique husky voice, Lauren Bacall first made her mark in motion picture history in the film noir genre.

From starring opposite Humphrey Bogart in "To Have and Have Not" (1944), "The Big Sleep" (1946), and "Key Largo" (1948), to starring in "How to Marry a Millionaire" (1953) with fellow iconic actress Marilyn Monroe, to the notable "The Mirror Has Two Faces" (1996) which earned her a Golden Globe, Lauren Bacall's extraordinary work speaks for itself.

Synopsis: "Mitch Wayne and Kyle Hadley, the playboy son of an oil tycoon, have been best friends since childhood. Kyle's wild sister, Marylee, hopes to marry Mitch, but he thinks of her as a sister. Marylee says that Mitch finishes everything Kyle starts. Mitch and Kyle both fall in love with Lucy, but she marries Kyle before Mitch can express his feelings. For a year after his marriage, Kyle stops drinking and behaves more responsibly, until he discovers that he may be sterile. Synopsis: "Bob Weston is the top reporter for a sleazy, but highly profitable, tabloid magazine that owes its success to stories highlighting sex. Weston realizes that Brown won't grant him an interview because she has already been the subject of one of his exploitative articles, so he masquerades as his friend and neighbor Frank Broderick, a hosiery manufacturer henpecked by a jealous wife. Synopsis: "John Bernard Books, a gunfighter approaching his 58th birthday, finds that he has rectal cancer and two months to live. He takes a room with Bond Rogers and her son, Gillom, to wait until death comes. Of course, his very presence starts off events in the town. The Marshal comes, prepared to die in a shootout, Gillom tries to idolize him, Bond first is disgusted and then pities him. 5. "The Mirror Has Two Faces" (1996)

Synopsis: "Rose and Gregory, both Columbia University professors meet when Rose's sister answers Gregory's 'personals' ad. Several times burned, the handsome-but-boring Gregory believes that sex has ruined his life, and has deliberately set out to find and marry a woman with absolutely no sex appeal. Greg thinks he's found what he's looking for in Rose, a plain, plump English Lit professor who can't compete with her gorgeous mother and sister. More out of mutual admiration and respect than love, Greg and Rose marry. Greg assumes that Rose understands that he is not interested in a sexual relationship. He's mistaken, and their marriage is nearly destroyed when Rose tries to consummate their relationship.
