"Tales From The Borderlands" or "Borderlands The Pre Sequel" has been releasing a steady flow of new details in preperation for its release date the newest of which shows off the 4th playable character, Claptrap. The release date is October 14th. 

Claptrap is the fourth playable character in The Pre-Sequel, after Nisha, Wilhelm, and Athena. The trailer shows him using abilities called Torgue Fiesta, Funzerker, Laser Inferno, and Rubber Ducky. He also, because he's Claptrap, gets turned down for a dance. 

The trailer also shows an unknown woman who features quite prominently. Destructoid is speculating that this is Handsome Jack's wife, a character hinted at in Borderlands 2 but never seen.

Speaking on a gaming television show Tony Lawrence and Matt Armstrong discussed "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" and explained why they were concentrating on bringing the title to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. According to Armstrong, the franchise director for Gearbox, the developer thought it would be unfair to make players have to buy new consoles in order to play the game. He explained: "Moving it on to next-gen and requiring people to buy new hardware to play the middle entry in a trilogy feels a little disingenuous and we sort of want to respect that."

Lawrence went on to say that next gen versions may be coming out later. "I guess we're full on developing the PS3, 360 and PC game," said Lawrence. "All the Borderlands 2 players are playing on those consoles. That's the choice they've got. So we want to reward those guys. If fans say 'hey, we'd really like this on a next-gen console', well, we'll think about that, but right now we're concentrating on the consoles we know."

The story involves the rise of Handsome Jack to power on Pandora. Although it will feature much of the same gameplay mechanics as in previous games, it will also introduce several new elements such as anti-gravity.

Events of the "Borderlands The Pre Sequel" take place between the first two Borderlands games, with players witnessing the reign of Hyperion leader Handsome Jack. "Borderlands" and "Borderlands 2" featured four vault hunters on the quest for the ultimate treasure on Pandora. This time, players work as one of four hunters employed by Jack himself.
