Guilty! But... Justin Bieber Gets Away With Fines And Community Service After Pleading In DUI Case

It's been a long road of run-ins with the law lately for Justin Bieber. On Tuesday, Bieber pleaded guilty to careless driving and resisting arrest without violence as a result of drag racing a rented Lamborghini under the influence while in Miami in January.

Although the judge in Bieber's Miami DUI case had harsh words for the pop star, it looks like Bieber will avoid jail time for driving with marijuana and Xanax in his system.

As a result of Bieber's plea deal, the singer will have to attend a private 12-hour anger management course, as well as view online videos about real-life tragedies involving DUIs.

Bieber will also pay court fines, including $50,000, which the "Baby" star has already agreed to pay to the charity Our Kids.

According to the Miami Herald, in addition to the ruling, the Miami-Dade County Judge, William Altfield, sent a stern message to Bieber. " I hope that he realizes that his actions not only lead to consequences that affect him but they lead to consequences that affect others that are looking up to him as a role model. He just hopefully will get the message. He will grow up. He will use his talents positively for young persons."

While Bieber did not attend the court proceedings on Tuesday, his attorney Howard Srebnick, claimed that the star will receive the judge's firm words. "We'll make sure and turn this to a positive experience for everyone and everyone that is a fan of Justin Bieber," Srebnick represented Bieber along with Mark Shapiro and Roy Black.

Concering the DUI charge, Judge Altfield also warned, "[Bieber] needs to be cognizant that there are many young persons living under the influence - and he is the influence."

Perhaps with this plea, the seemingly trouble-ridden star will begin to clean up his act.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle told ABC News, "the ultimate purpose of the Miami Beach Police Department's initial traffic stop was to end some rash, juvenile-type conduct before a tragedy occurred." She added, "the intervention and counseling parts of the plea should provide a pathway toward adult responsibility."
