"Revenge" season 4 will be returning this fall with a mysterious plot. According to "Revenge" spoilers and updates, two new characters will be joining the show and each one of them will bring a new angle to how the series will run.

Brian Hallisay will be joining the cast as local police officer Ben. With his easygoing nature, he soon becomes Jack's friend. Elena Satine, on the other hand, will play the role of Louise, the black sheep daughter of a wealthy Southern family. It is yet to be discovered whether she will cause trouble in Emily's life.

"Revenge" spoilers are likewise suggesting that David Clarke will be the season's main villain. While Emily has worked hard to avenge her father's death, the final episode of "Revenge" season 3 did not reveal whether David was actually on his daughter's side. Fans are wondering whether all of Emily's efforts will be worthless.

Show runner Sunil Nayar confirmed to TV Fanatic that the show's characters would indeed evolve.

 "Emily has been Emily Thorne for so long, and the idea is what does it mean to be Amanda to her? Victoria's been next to Conrad for so long, and what does it mean for her to be a free woman now?" he hinted.

Nayar similarly teased about the trouble that might come with David's comeback: "David's been wherever David's been for so long, and what does it mean to be back in the world? And so I think one of the things that we are fascinated to explore is to figure out who our people are and who they really are struggling to try to be and who they're actually capable of being,"

"Revenge" season 4 will be aired on ABC starting September 28.
