Andrew Keegan Launches Religion: ’10 Things I Hate About You’ Star Says Being Attacked By Gang Members and Japanese Tsunami Inspired Him To Create Spiritualist Movement

Ever wonder what became of 90's heartthrob Andrew Keegan? Well, new reports indicate that the teen magazine cover boy and '10 Things I Hate About You' actor has recently launched his own religion.

In an interview with Vice, Keegan opened up about Full Circle, the movement that he started in Venice Beach, California. According to the actor-turned-spiritual leader, a run-in with some gang members on the same day as the Japanese tsunami propelled him into what his followers now call "advanced spiritualism."

Full Circle was established in May when Keegan began renting an old church building in Venice. The center's mission statement reads:

"Dedicated to supporting individuals in our community to follow their passions with a broader social understanding, Full Circle Venice is a Community based Cultural Center. The home of a conscious social movement, we provide an experiential environment designed to creatively expand consciousness through visual and performing arts, movement classes, workshops, forums and healing therapies."

Vice claims that the religion's goal is to encourage individuals to be truly themselves outside of cultural boundaries.

"Synchronicity. Time. That's what it's all about," Keegan told Vice when asked about the movement's name. "Whatever, the past, some other time. It's a circle; in the center is now. That's what it's about."

March 11, 2011 is the date Keegan believes the Full Circle religion sprung into being. He claims that he and a group of friends were attacked by people he calls gang members. This occurred on the same day as the massive tsunami that hit Japan.

"I had a moment where I was looking at a street lamp and it exploded. That was a weird coincidence," he told Vice. "At a ceremony, a heart-shaped rose quartz crystal was on the altar, and synchronistically, this whole thing happened. It's a long story, but basically the crystal jumped off the altar and skipped on camera. That was weird."

"The mission is to take the war out of our story," continued the actor, "which is essentially peace, but activated peace.

Keegan is currently struggling to maintain possession of the Full Circle Center due to rising rent prices in the Venice area.
