'Star Wars: Episode VII' Release Date Announced; Rumored Plot Revealed

"Star Wars: Episode VII" has been given a release date but more than the anticipation for its opening, the Internet is abuzz with speculations that the plot for the newest installment in the saga has been released.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" release date is slated on December 18, 2015 and is set 30 years after the Battle of Endor, according to a report in Cinemablend.

Director J.J. Abrams's production company Bad Robot tweeted a picture of a robotic hand holding a note, which fans assumed were Luke Skywalker's but Badass Digest reported that it was made to mislead and that the hand actually belongs to the villain of "Star Wars: Episode VII."

According to the Latino-Review, the villain heads The Inquisitors. The group is said to be a secret division of Imperial Intelligence composed of dark side "mercenaries."

The villain is described by Indie Revolver as "tall and thin and terrifyingly creepy, with glowing red eyes to match his red lightsaber. He's got some robotic upgrades, like Vader - but no mask. The cybernetic bits weave in and out of him. He's got a human upper lip, a steel jaw..."

"Their quest takes them off-world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore... Han and Chewie recognise the lightsaber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in 30 years, since the events of 'Return of the Jedi,'" said the report from Badass Digest.

"So begins a quest to finding the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets bu entire solar systems..." the report continued.

Apart from brewing interest over "Star Wars: Episode VII" release ddate and this rumored side of the plot, Cinemablend reported that the original screenplay followed the lives of Luke Skywalker, Princess Lea and Han Solo's child.

But since pre-production has been taken over by Abrams and Oscar winning screenwriter Michael Arndt, the focus of "Episode VII" will be more inclined to the original trilogy characters. While no confirmation has been made regarding these speculations, it is definite that the screenplay has already been finished.
