"Mad Max Fury Road" has been getting a lot of buzz and press, and was the darling of this years Comic Con, but there is also an upcoming "Mad Max" Game. 

The upcoming "Mad Max" game probably will not be commected to the movie plot wise. The game was first announced in 2008, initially talked up as a joint collaboration between "Mad Max" director George Miller and "God of War II" director Cory Balrog. The game then went into hibernation and we didn't hear anything for years, finally announcing that Avalanche Studios had taken over the project.

The last substantive update came as part during E3 2013, where its creators said it wouldn't tie into the upcoming film, then changed their mind and made the concession that their main chacarter would have an Australian accent. Then they moved the release date back until 2015. No exact release date has been officially announced yet. 

The game's website describes the game saying " Play as Mad Max, a lone warrior who must embark on a dangerous journey after his Interceptor is stolen by a deadly gang of marauders. A reluctant hero with an instinct for survival, Max wants nothing more than to leave the madness behind and find solace in the storied "Plains of Silence"
