Disney To Release Unaltered Version of Star Wars Trilogy Prior to Episode 7

Unaltered and original form of the Star Wars trilogy will be released on Blu-ray, ComicBook.com reported.

The Star Wars Trilogy: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will finally make available the uncut version.

"Disney has plans to release the original cut of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray. Our sources indicate that the project has been under way for quite some time, but it's been challenging because of some damage to the original negatives they are utilizing," ComicBook.com stated in its report.

It added, "our sources did not have an exact date as to when the original cut of the Star Wars Trilogy would be released on Blu-ray, due to the challenges Disney has encountered in pulling everything together. However, our sources indicated the goal is to have it ready and released before Star Wars Episode VII is released in theaters."

Star Wars Episode VII, is the 7th installment of the Star Wars movie series and is scheduled for release on December 2015.

JJ Abrams will direct the upcoming movie. Abrams directorial film includes Star Trek films.

The latest Star Wars sequel will have the original cast of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.

This early, reports have been circulating about leaks of the possible plot of the film. The Verge reported that the film will include flashbacks and a new villain, cyborg Sith Inquisitor after Darth Vader was killed in the 'Return of the Jedi."

The report also hinted that the story plot will include Luke Skywalker's abduction and the history of the new antagonists. The Sith Inquistor has not appeared in the original Star Wars films but has been featured in the franchise's book, video games and comics.

The report also cited JJ Abrams hinting in a recent tweet about a "robotic hand," might just be a glimpse of the new bad guy.
