English Premier League Schedule & Standings: Manchester City Opening Weekend Analysis [NEWS]
Manchester City defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in the opening weekend of the English Premier League 2014-2015 season, earning a second place ranking in the tournament's standings.
The team is expected to face off against Liverpool on August 25.
"This team won the title two years ago and the next season was a disaster," Manchester City coach Pellegrini told BBC Radio 5 live.
"It wasn't a useful year for anyone. Last season Manchester United had a disaster [finished seventh] after winning the title. It's important from the beginning that we understand we won the title last season and need to win again this year."
