Swansea City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the opening weekend of the English Premier League 2014-2015 season, earning a fourth place ranking in the tournament's standings.

The team is expected to face off against Burnley FC on August 25.

"We've had good chats with Federico, the fee has been agreed and we're just agreeing personal terms," Swansea City coach Garry Monk said.

"Hopefully he'll be coming over this week for a medical but the deal won't be done in time for Saturday. He's obviously bringing that pedigree, he's a very good age for us and he's a good size and a very good footballer."
