Aston Villa defeated Stoke City 1-0 in the opening weekend of the English Premier League 2014-2015 season, earning a fifth place ranking in the tournament's standings.

The team is expected to face off against Newcastle United on August 25.

"The thing that annoys me about this speculation is that people are talking out of turn about other players," Aston Villa coach Paul Lambert said during a press conference.

"You cannot do that. You've got to have a bit of respect for other clubs and other managers. I think he was wrong about what he said. People know who I'm talking about. I think it's wrong."
