iPhone 6 Rumors: New Apple Smartphone Will Only Get 250mAh More Battery Than iPhone 5s?

Now that we are just several weeks away from Apple's new smartphone, we get more iPhone 6 rumors which would help consumers decide whether they really want to get this premium phone or not.

According to a report from GSM Arena courtesy of leaker 9to5mac,

In the report, leaked images of the new iPhone's battery have made the rounds on the Web. And in tune to previous reports, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 battery will be 1,810mAh.

However, if we consider it carefully, the iPhone 5s had a 1,560mAh battery which means the increase is not significant at all. With the much bigger screen, a faster chipset and more features under its hood, the iPhone 6 may not get enough power to last an entire day with moderate to heavy use.

In the same report, the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone will get a much bigger power source to provide the energy needed by a 5.5-inch display. The report shows that the bigger iPhone's battery would be 2,915mAh, and should last a day without any problems.

The report also mentions an alleged name for the 5.5-inch version of the smartphone, which is iPhone 6L. While this is certainly a not official yet, the 'L' could stand for 'Large' which is what the bigger iPhone is like. Last year, the Cupertino giant launched another version of the iPhone which it dubbed the iPhone 5c. The 'C' in the model name was later on defined as 'Color'.

Apple is certainly aiming to take the mobile market by storm when it announces the iPhone 6 phones, though the small battery increase for the 4.7-inch variant may be a crucial factor that consumers would surely consider. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a slightly better battery, but as far as design and performance is concerned, the iPhone may still get higher interest among buyers.
