ThunderCats Movie Remake In The Works? ‘Transformers 4’ Director Michael Bay To Helm Film, 'X Men Days Of Future Past' James McAvoy To Star As Lion-O?

After years of reports that ThunderCats would have a movie remake, rumors and speculations rise once again as reports of “Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction” director Michael Bay, who worked on a few 90’s series hits to a remake, will take on ThunderCats as his new project after the successful release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this month.

This angle, however, has been a huge “blunder” for fans of the cartoons, saying that they don’t want anymore “90’s childhood series” to be directed by Bay, especially ThunderCats.

TheOnion.com even posted a headline "Michael Bay Signs $50M Deal To F*** Up 'ThunderCats'", to express their disagreement if ever the Transformers director would helm this film adaptation.

Meanwhile, previous reports by totalfilm.com stated that "X Men Days Of Future Past" actor James McAvoy expressed his interest and intent to play as Lion-O in the movie if it were to be made.

As reported by the website, McAvoy, who visited the publication’s office for a chat for his previous film “Filth” revealed that he would love be part of a ThunderCats movie – claiming that a movie remake of the series “needs to be made”.

The actor expressed his interest in playing Lion-O, “Lord Of The ThunderCats”, in the film, claiming that “Lion-O is essentially a 12-year old in a grown up’s body.

Numerous fan made trailers, however, loiter around the web as fans are eager to see the human-feline characters in the big screen.
