‘Juno’ And ‘Up In The Air’ Director Jason Reitman Unleashes New Trailer For ‘Men, Women & Children’: Looks Like Another Critique Of Social Networking, Release Date Suggests Oscars In Mind?

Paramount released a new trailer for director of "Juno" and "Up in the Air" Jason Reitman's newest project. "Men, Women & Children" silently gives us the social media world of several characters and provokes thought on how it has affected modern personal interaction. With the film's release date set for the beginning of Oscar season, will Reitman return to his Academy Award Nominated glory?

As the film industry gears up for the beginning of awards season with Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival around the corner, Jason Reitman enters the mix with his latest project, "Men, Women & Children." As reported by Indiewire, the film is "based on Chad Kulgen's novel of the same name" and is "about technology and its effect on family dynamics."

The trailer, available on Youtube, shows a star-studded ensemble including Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, and newbie breakout from "The Fault in Our Stars" Ansel Elgort. No real dialogue is featured, and instead social media posts and text messages become the dominant form of communication. Based on the fight that nreaks out in the trailer, one can guess that the film will most likely be critiquing social networking's effect on the way people interact (or don't interact) with each other these days.

This trailer comes as a sign that director Jason Reitman hasn't completely gone amiss. With his last film "Labor Day" disappointing critics and its ultimately disappointing box office numbers, Reitman fans may have been wondering what happened to their acclaimed director of "Juno". It appears he has returned with this new trailer which will premiere at the "Toronto International Film Festival" in the director's hometown. The film has the added benefit of a book fan base that may be interested in seeing the work come alive.

"Men, Women & Children" is due out for limited release on October 3rd and will be in theaters nationwide on October 17th. Here's hoping the film is a glorious return for the award winning "Up in the Air" director.
