Xiaomi Mi3 Review: 4 Reasons Why Chinese Manufacturer's Mi3 And Mi4 Flagship Will Trump Android Competition

Not a lot of people know that one of the best selling smartphones right now, the Xiaomi Mi3 was launched almost a year ago already, but its official review from GSM Arena was just completed several days ago.

However, in spite of its almost one year old status, it still gets a lot of attention, especially from emerging markets in Asia.

Its successor, the Mi4 was launched late last month and should be available by September initially in China and some countries in Asia. The Xiaomi Mi4 follows on the footsteps of its predecessor, and is bound to become the best selling phone in the market in the months to come.

Why?

Elegant and Stylish Design

The Xiaomi Mi3, and now the Mi4 both have metallic frames which definitely add to the already gorgeous design they have. While the Mi4 is curvier than the Mi3, both share the same quality build that shouts premium from all angles. Not so many smartphone manufacturers today give so much detail to design.

High-end Power and Processing Speed

Unlike most smartphones coming from China that packs a MediaTek chipset, the Mi3 and Mi4 gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, 800 and 801 respectively. That means these two smartphones get the best available chipset in the industry in their respective launch dates. The Mi3 packs a 2GB RAM which equates to the Note 3's RAM, while the Mi4 now has 3GB of RAM which is the same as the LG G3's.

High Resolution Cameras

In the camera department, the Xiaomi flagships do everything to rival other Android flagships. While the back of the Mi3 and Mi4 'only' gets a 13MP shooter, it is the front camera that makes a world of difference. The Xiaomi Mi3 gets a 5MP camera while the Mi4 boasts an even higher resolution 8MP front cam. While Nokia and Sony are boasting their 5MP front cams, Xiaomi has already included it in their phones since last year.

Affordable Price Tag

The Xiaomi Mi3 now costs only below $300 in select markets for the 16GB version, but remember that its specs are still that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. On the other hand, the Mi4 is priced at $320 for the 16GB edition while the 64GB variant costs $400. That is still pretty cheap considering that it packs a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP/8MP camera combination.
