OnePlus One Release Date Rumored To Hit India Soon? Can It Take On Local Android OEMs?

In spite its huge marketing success, the OnePlus One release date is one of the most disappointing events this year.

After all the excitement it has stirred in the market weeks before its announcement, the startup company failed to actually provide the device to the market.

Fortunately, a recent report shows that the OnePlus One smartphone may actually get an official release date for a particular Asian market.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered handset may be headed to India soon, as showed by a recent hiring from OnePlus. In the report, the company is reportedly looking for a General Manager for India on its official website.

Of course, this does not tell us anything concrete for now, but it could also mean that the company is already trying to court its fans again and rekindle their excitement for the device.

And what better way to get a huge following than to get the second largest smartphone market in the world. Unfortunately for OnePlus, it doesn't seem like the Indians would be interested in their device.

Just a couple of months ago, Chinese sibling Xiaomi opened a flash sale for its previous flagship, the Mi3, which is considered one of the most sold smartphones today. In rather surprising fashion, the flash sale did not end well, with reports claiming that there were 'only' 30,000 units sold compared to the millions the company sells in its flash sales in China and other neighboring markets.

So while the OnePlus One is a high-end smartphone with an affordable price tag, it may not be enough to lure the already solid Indian market.
