The second “Annabelle” trailer has been released and it will scare you off your socks! The scary doll from “The Conjuring” that seems to have a life of its own will start inducing nightmares right before Halloween!

The official case file from the Warrens (the paranormal investigative team in The Conjuring) as reprinted by Aint it Cool News:
"John Form thinks he’s found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia—a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long.

On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now…Annabelle.“

The movie was produced, not directed, by James Wan who infamously declared that he is quitting horror films (most believe it’s temporary). The film was eventually helmed by John R. Leonetti. Rhinos Horror writes:

“John R. Leonetti—who acted as cinematographer on The Conjuring—has definitely picked up on some of James Wan’s tricks, which quickly becomes apparent in this new trailer. The gamble to give Annabelle her very own feature film after the massive success of The Conjuring looks to have paid off for the studio.”

However, Screenrant was not so optimistic with Leonetti’s track record, citing his former directorial jobs “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation” and “The Butterfly Effect 2.” Nevertheless, his cinematography work was excellent under James Wan’s tutelage and the movie picks up from there.

It is also clarified that “Annabelle” is a spin off, not a sequel to “The Conjuring”, which is also shooting its own sequel along with the third chapter to “Insidious.”

"Annabelle" will start the screamfest on October 3rd!
