"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 teaser has been released in which Damon tells Elena to "move on."

Picking up from last season's finale where Damon got stuck on the Other Side, "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 teaser offers an endless number of possibilities, with fans brewing up theories on how the story will pan out.

According to an article on Bustle, the main question fans want to know the answer to about "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 is whether or not Damon will turn into a human.

In an interview with TV guide, the show's producer, Julie Plec answered a few questions about the upcoming season. And when asked about the show's setting, Plec shared: "There's a substantial time jump which we're excited about. It gives us the opportunity to find these people again with enough time having passed that the grief has settled into a reality that is making them either actively move forward with their lives, spiral to a different place or make really bold and rash decisions in how they're going to live their lives without these people in them."

The plan and statement appeared to be well-translated on screen as a scene in the 20-second "The Vampire Diaries" teaser shows how Stefan asked Elena to say goodbye to Damon and later, Damon asked her to move on.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Plec said that, "season six is a beautiful and organic reset. The theme of the season is everybody gets to start over. That's what we're going to do."

Following the season's said theme, the production also announced an addition to its cast. Actress Emily Chang will join the drama series' latest season as Ivy, "the quintessential girl next door with an unexpected wild side." She will reportedly appear on the show's season premiere.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will premiere on October 2 on CW.
