'Evolve' Release Date And New Gameplay Trailer From Gamescon Showing Distillery: Beta Test Release Date Will Be Xbox One Exclusive: Co-Op Shooter From 'Left 4 Dead' Creator Turtle Rock [VIDEO]

"Evolve" has just won best of show at Gamescon, as well as getting the same award at E3 earlier this year. Predictably the hype is ramping up quite a bit. "Evolve" has a release date of Fevruary 10, 2015.

Evolve also took out awards for best console game on Xbox, best online multiplayer game, best game on PC and best action game.

Kotaku reports that the people behind Evolve were excited by the news, "We are blown away by the positive reception for Evolve from both the critics and the consumers here at Gamescom," said Phil Robb, the game's creative director. "Winning the 'Best of Show' award at both E3 and Gamescom in the same year is humbling and exhilarating."

"It's encouraging to see the level of excitement for Evolve rise constantly," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "The team at Turtle Rock Studios is creating something very special with this new IP that we believe will deliver one of the most unique and engaging next-gen experiences early next year."

The game comes from "Left 4 Dead" developers Turtle Rock. Following a similar formula the game is a 4 person co-op, the twist is that one player is a giant monster playing against the other players. The developers will release a beta version of the game on XBox One exclusively, all of the DLC's will also come to Xbox first.

The game was delayed from its origonal date, according to developers the reasons for this was to not be released around other popular games, putting the game in a more marketable release date window.
