Sony Xperia Z3 Specs: Upcoming Flagship Shows Up In Chinese Site, Confirms Xperia Z2-Like Features And Specs

A couple of weeks before the IFA event, we get some sort of confirmation from a report as to what the Sony Xperia Z3 specs are like.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the upcoming Android flagship handset has recently passed through the TENAA, which is the Chinese equivalent for the FCC. This only confirms that the device will indeed be launched not only on Sony's main markets such as Japan and EU but in other countries as well.

Unfortunately for Sony and Android fans, the Xperia Z3 is almost identical to the previous flagship. The only major difference you will notice from outside is its smoother edges and corners, unlike the Xperia Z2's pointed corners and rectangular design.

As far as specs are concerned, the Xperia Z3 is almost the Xperia Z2 with minimal changes. In the report, the TENAA listing cites a 5.2-inch screen will Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, the same 3GB RAM, a slightly higher CPU frequency at 2.5GHz, quad-core CPU, Snapdragon 801 and 16GB of internal memory.

Like the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z1, and Xperia Z, the new Sony flagship will get a 20.7MP rear camera, which is paired with a 2MP front shooter for selfies and video calls.

Also on board is a microSD card slot, and while the TENAA listing failed to include it, the new Xperia Z may still come with IP certification for water resistance.

As the IFA event draws near, it looks like most fans will be veering away from this Sony flagship. In fact, the Japanese manufacturer's midrangers are even more interesting because they bring something new to the table.

If these were the actual specs of the upcoming flagship, then you might as well get the Xperia Z2 which should be a lot cheaper now than when it was launched back in February.
