Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 Review, Price: Android Handset Incl. 4-inch Display W/ 480 x 800 Pixels, Dual-Core Processor; Basic Features Makes For A Great Handset

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 review, price: The Android-powered Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 features a 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, a dual-core processor powered with 768 MB RAM, and 4GB storage. The device also has a 5MP camera.

Compared to other Galaxy products, this unit doesn’t sport the premium features and feel, but for its price and functionality, is deemed a great handset.

Available for $221, this mid-range smartphone also offers a dual-sim function. Its retail price is also affordable compared to other Samsung handsets.

Measuring 4.78 x 2.48 x 0.42 inches and weighing 118 grams, the Galaxy S Duos 2 can be mistaken for a model similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4. Its stylish and sleek body is quite unlikely for its price. Available in black and white, its body also provides a solid grip.

Its 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 233 ppi. It is impressively bright enough to allow you to view images or read texts even outdoors or direct sunlight.

Design and display aside, the Galaxy S Duos 2’s highlight is its dual-sim card functionality. Users can easily manage contacts and texts on both sim cards. It also delivers good speech quality on both networks. According to the Notebook Check bench test, “there were no background noises or connection interruptions.”

The 5 MP primary camera is equipped with an LED flash and timer. It shoots great quality pictures in daylight. They only comment on its photos is its faded or pale effect. Meanwhile, the secondary camera is only VGA. It isn’t much of a surprise considering it is only a mid-range handset. Its only main function is for video chat, which is still not that fluid.

Samsung claims that the handset’s 1500 mAh battery can live up to eight hours of talk time and up to 280 hours of standby time. In Notebook Check’s maximum battery runtime test, the Samsung smartphone lasted for a very good time of 20 hours and 20 minutes in minimum screen brightness, enabled energy-saving mechanisms, and all wireless modules except Wi-Fi off.

If you’re after a budget-friendly smartphone that delivers all the basic functions of a dual-sim handset, then the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is a good option.
