Barclays Premier League: Stoke City and Hull City on draw

Stoke City and Hull City had a 1-1 draw match at the KC Stadium. The Stoke pushed to make their spare man count as they earn a goal on the latter part of the game; the Hull's side ended up with only 10 men playing under a quarter of an hour play.

Hull began the season with a win at Queens Park Rangers last week. Chester then attained the only goal of the play and lasted not more than 15 minutes before being assigned with marching orders to bring Glenn Whelan down following on his goal.

Hull, as expected, dragged back a raft of football players who had left not-featured in midweek, and the transformations looked to have an impact in the early stages with the hosts looking jumpy in defense.

The speed and strength of Mame Biram Diouf cost trouble to the hosts and they seemed to pay for complacent defending until on the 14th minute when Whelan intercepted a poor pass and was lead down by Chester as he ran at goal.

On the other end, Stoke failed in making the club's extra man count.  As of Hughes, he opted to substitute Whelan with striker Bojan Krkic. Krkic reportedly had plunged to their bench but before the Spaniard could start off any impact on the game - Hull stole the momentum. It was when Begovic could only parry a long-range Tom Huddlestone strike and Jelavic pounced on the rebound to secure home a shot from a good angle.

Hull goalkeeper McGregor had to get down well to keep out a Shawcross attempt at the start of the second half, but the home team were more than keeping their own as of possession and field position per se.

They eventually flung the ball inside the box, with Shawcross prodding home in off McGregor, the Goal Decision System confirming the ball had go beyond the line to spare the visitors' shot.
