Will Emmys 2014 Nominee Kerry Washington Celebrate This Year With New Baby Girl And 'Scandal' Award Win For Outstanding Lead?

"Scandal" actress Kerry Washington has had quite the year: she's celebrated her wedding anniversary to husband Nnamdi Asomugha and gave birth to baby girl Isabelle. The Emmys 2014 tonight may give her more things to celebrate this year - if she wins the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series?

According to New York Daily News, Kerry Washington had been nominated for the second time for Lead Actress, with her role as Olivia Pope in "Scandal." But the 36-year-old actress had a lot of other things to celebrate in 2014!

In April, Kerry Washington gave birth to her first child, baby girl Isabelle with husband Nnamdi Asomugha. Then in June she celebrated her first wedding anniversary with the NFL player, the publication reports.

"I was going through this amazing physical transition, this physical journey of having a baby, that my character was not going through," she told the Hollywood Reporter, about filming "Scandal" while pregnant and trying to hide her baby bump from the camera.

"It was tough for me to even maintain Olivia's walk because of the changes."

"I will say I feel really, really blessed," she told the LA Times in June. "I just feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."

A win at the Emmys 2014 tonight would just be the icing on the cake of a great year for Kerry Washington.

It's going to be a tough win though - she's pitted against Claire Danes, who won the award the last two years for "Homeland." According to the Los Angeles Times, another actress putting up a fair fight in this category is Julianna Margulies in "The Good Wife."

Tune in tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT to find out who takes home the Emmys 2014 award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
