Pokemon Pokken Tournament Game Confirmed With Bandai Namco Trailer [VIDEO]: New Fighting Game Set For 2015 Release Date

Today, a special live stream featuring The Pokemon Company President Tsunekazu Ishihara streamed on YouTube, and as expected, a brand new Pokemon game was revealed to the public.

Titled "Monthly Famitsu feat. Pokemon Special," this live stream announced Pokken Tournament, an upcoming arcade fighting game developed by Bandai Namco, who also produced Tekken and Soul Caliber.

Reportedly, this Pokemon game will arrive sometime in 2015 in arcades, but a non-arcade version could arrive in the future, presumably for the Nintendo Wii U.

The name Pokken Tournament (also known as Pokken Fighters prior to this announcement) should be familiar for Pokemon fans, as footage and trademarks for the franchise have been surfacing since August of last year at the Pokemon Game Show.

According to Serebii, The Pokemon Company filed trademarks for Pokken Fighters and Pokken Tournament in May. On August 20, 2013, the same trademarks were filed in North America.

In addition, there is also the first official trailer for Pokken Tournment below:

"They wouldn't show this trailer on the US Pokemon channel just to tell you guys that it's only coming out in Japanese arcades," commented shofu on YouTube. "We can probably expect it in America sooner or later.

"This is pretty cool," wrote SegaSaturn617. "This should have been done ages ago. Would of loved this as a kid. Good stuff for Nintendo fans."
