Xiaomi Mi3 Sales In India Continues To Wipe Out Inventory; 20,000 Units Gone In A Few Seconds

Xiaomi Mi3 sales in India continues to wipe out available inventory for every batch. In just a few seconds, 20,000 handsets of Xiaomi Mi3 made available through online retailer Flipkart was gone, reports the Economic Times.

The Mi3 has sold 95,000 units thus far through six flash sales. The Indian news site noted that up to 100,000 people had registered for the week’s sales.

Xiaomi sells its former flagship in batches, virtually limiting available units each time. The Mi3’s launched in China saw 100,000 Xiaomi Mi3 sellings in minutes and so far it’s reported that 10 million units of the Android-based handset has been shipped.

The Xiaomi Mi3 sales in India is part of Xiaomi’s plans to expand in other markets beyond Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, where it initially sold its products. Xiaomi is expected to be in more markets this year and it has already established a presence in India and the Philippines. It has announced that it will come to the U.S. in 2015.

The “Apple of China” began offering the Mi3 in India in batches of 10,000 and moved it way up to 20,000 in succeeding flash sales. The next sale for the unit is on September 2.

Specs of the Xiaomi Mi3 include a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 2 GB RAM, 16 or 64 GB internal memory, Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (upgradable to KitKat), and a 13 MP primary camera, all powered by a Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz Krait 400 quad-core processor.

According to reviews the Xiaomi Mi 3 performs more than its worth. With its low budget and high quality, this smartphone might start a trend in the market, particularly in India. By far, it is one of the best phones you can buy that is under Rs. 15,000.

The Mi3 has been succeeded by the Xiaomi Mi4, which is at the moment will only be available in China.
