2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Isaiah Thomas Says Transfer To Phoenix Is 'Sacramento Kings Loss!' Diminutive Point Guard Wants To Lead Suns To Playoffs!

Some of the 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions  have already panned out, and one story that needs to be closed is Isaiah Thomas and his transfer to the Phoenix Suns.

The former Sacramento Kings point guard posted career highs in all departments so it was a puzzler as to why the Kings didn't even bother to try and keep him.

Basketball Insiders cites his numbers:

"(Thomas) averaged 21.2 points, 6.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals in his 54 starts. Statistically, Thomas was one of the most productive point guards in the league. His 20.54 efficiency rating was fourth-best among all NBA point guards, behind only Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry."

BI also asked the sensitive question-did he feel like the Kings did not appreciate him? Thomas with the curt response:

"I always felt like they didn't appreciate me as much as they should. I'm not saying the fans - the fans loved me and the city of Sacramento loved me. But it's a business. They felt like they could get somebody better and I don't blame them, that's on them, and it's their loss. I'm just going to continue to work hard, and worry about the Phoenix Suns. That's what it's about now. It's not about Sacramento. It's not about me not going back there. I wish them the best, and now it's about being on the Phoenix Suns and making the playoffs."

Speaking of the playoffs, for Thomas, that's uncharted territory. It's been a while since the Kings have been in the postseason even when they have one of the best young centers (DeMarcus Cousins) in the league. Thomas adds:

"It's very exciting because that's what it's all about. I mean once you win, all of the individual success comes along with that. That's what I want to do next. I want to win. I want to get to the playoffs; I want to see what that's like because I'm tired of just watching the playoffs each and every year. I feel like Phoenix gave me the best chance of doing that. They're on the rise and they're an organization that wants to get better. They have great players and a great coaching staff with Jeff Hornacek and all of the other coaches. It just seems like a perfect fit, and I'm excited to get things started."

Thomas lacked height but he never lacked any passion for the game. Perhaps the Kings were not used to it but he'll fit right in with the overachieving Phoenix Suns.
