'Borderlands The Pre Sequel' Release Date And Trailer: Preview All 4 Playable Classes Including Claptrap [VIDEO]

"Borderlands The Pre Sequel" Release Date is October 14, and will only be availble on last gen consoles.

The story will be set in between the event of "Borderlands" and "Borderlands 2" and will focus on Handsome Jack's decent into madness. It also will be set on Pandora's moon, Elpis, so expect lots of low gravity jumping type of action.

There is a whole new cast of playable vault hunters. You have Athena, the rogue assassin whose kinetic Aspis shield can absorb energy and which allows her to throw it back. She's got a triad of skill trees that allows her to branch out in to different focuses; buffing her shield, creating electric storms and one that gives her particularly blade-focused melee damage buffs

Wilhelm, (who you may remember from Borderlands 2 (because you blew him up)) functions as your commander, and he has two drones that help him in battle and recharge his shields. His action skill is called Wolf and Saint, and allows him to summon two drones that aid in battle, and help him recharge his shields respectively. His branching skill trees allow him to focus on either of the drones, or on augmenting his own body. Obviously by the events of "Borderlands 2" this gets out of controll, as Wilhelm is just a robot by then.

Nisha the Lawbringer is the closest to the Gunzerker, with an action skill called Showdown that lets her go all Clint Eastwood and mow down everything with her dastardly pistol. With an action skill called Showdown she can unleash a hail of bullets with her pistol. With the right skills, she can permanently dual wield guns too, not to mention the melee whip. Unlike Gunzerker she will be something of a low health player that deals tons of damage.

The last hunter is the universally loathed Claptrap. Whos skills have been described as essentially random, and as likely to hurt the team as help them. His action skill, VaultHunter.exe, runs a random program that changes how things work. You get a random Action Package from a roulette wheel of fun based on the situation, that infers weird bonuses that can help or hinder, like making everyone throw grendades all the time or turning off gravity momentarily.

So things are shaping up to be pretty interesting, especially the whole low gravity, no oxygen elements, which could enhance what is already delightfully frantic gameplay of "Borderlands" Again the "Borderlands Pre Sequel" release date is October 14
