Community Season 6 News, Rumors, And Casting: Joe Russo And Anthony Russo Who Directed 'Captain America The Winter Soldier" Will Return To Direct First Episode Of New Season [PHOTO]

New "Community" Season 6 news. Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who recently directed "Captain America The Winter Soldier" will be directing the season 6 premier. Not only that, the two they directed were arguably the best in the season (besides Meow Meow Beans) "Geothermal Escapism" and "Advanced Advanced Dungeons and Dragons," but said of the season 6 premiere that:

The brothers were the primary directors on Community when it began, and in its five seasons so far, between the two of them, they have directed 33 episodes.

Those last two episodes, impressively, come from Season 5, which they took time off from "The Winter Soldier" in order to shoot. IGN reports Anthony said, "We will be returning. We're going to do the first episode [of Season 6] for those guys. We're going to have a little fun with that episode. [Community executive producers] Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are cooking up something very cool for us..."

Anthony explained that there was plenty of incentive to keep going back to Community. "The quality is always so high for the scripts on that show, so it's very exciting to tear into one of those scripts as a director.

Justin Lin, who now runs the "Fast and the Furious" franchise also got started on "Community."

So far, we know of 'Community' season 6 that creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Chris McKenna will remain at the helm, while cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Yvette Nicole Brown have all signed on to return. Dan Harmon suggested that John Oliver could potentially return as 'Last Week Tonight' allowed, while any inclusion of Donald Glover might best be reserved for the seemingly inevitable movie.

Harmon himself has suggested we might see the 'Community' season 6 premiere after Christmas, or potentially in 2015. Production is also expected to keep the series in a weekly format, rather than Netflix's "all at once' model.

In a recent interview, NBC Chairman of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt expressed his joy over the fact the series was picked up by Yahoo.

"Yahoo's in a different business than we are, trying to build their platform, and they made an extraordinary deal. We're the co-owners of that show, and we're going to make money on it right away, which wouldn't have been the case if it had been on the network for another year," Greenblatt shared.

"The Community that [fans] recognize needs to be there ... My philosophy is [to] attempt to make the same show, and let the lack of boundaries make themselves felt. I don't want to take the wheels off so much that people think, 'This is a new show,'" Harmon shared with fans in Comic Con.

Rash, who plays the "Dean" in the series, suggested a possible "Game of Thrones" theme for an episode.

"Maybe we could work that world [into Community]," Rash shared in an interview.

"There's got to be something you can battle for - what's the throne between [rival schools] City College and Greendale," he added.

Furthermore, TVLine reported that, "When the former NBC comedy makes its Yahoo Screen debut later this year, Rash would also like to see the simmering "issues between Dean and Britta" explored."

"Community" Season 6 is said to premiere in the third quarter of 2015.
