'The Musketeers' Season 2 Slated; Timeslot To Be Moved To 9PM

"The Musketeers" season 2 has been confirmed and the show will return for its second run on a 9PM timeslot.

According to The Mirror, the timeslot move for "The Musketeers" season 2 might pave the way for more action-packed scenes, both in fighting and love.

While a release date for "The Musketeers" season 2 has not been announced yet, reports confirm that the BBC show is slated for another run in 2015.

In an interview with The Mirror, Adrian Hodges, the show's creator said that the first season was given an 8pm time slot so they had to subdue the action and love scenes.

"We wouldn't have done the first series in that way, had we been doing the whole thing as a 9pm show," Hodges said. "So for this second series, I knew we were going out at 9pm and so we have pushed it harder for this audience."

It appears that fans will have a lot of things to watch out for in the show's next installment following Peter Capaldi's departure. Capaldi played the role of Cardinal Richelieu in the show's first season but had quit the show for "Doctor Who."

This led the production to look for a new villain and found one in Marc Warren, who is slated to play the role of Comte De Rochefort. "Marc will be the villain and he will run through the whole series, coming in and out of the boys' stories like The Cardinal did," said Hodges.

Another addition to the cast for the show's next run is Colin Salmon who is going to play the role of Tariq, "a mysterious interloper on the run from Spain." Antonia Thomas will also join "The Musketeers" as Tariq's daughter Samara.

Members of the cast returning for the second season include its stars Luke Pasqualino as D'Artagnan, Howard Charles as Porthos, Santiago Cabrera as Aramis and Tom Burke as Athos.
