Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: New BB Phone Appears In The Wild With Stylish Design, QWERTY Keypad Also On Board

Blackberry is continuing its rise from the ashes as the Canada-based manufacturer is reportedly working on a gorgeous-looking upcoming Blackberry phone bound for the market before the year ends.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the device is codenamed 'Khan' and will be under Blackberry's Porsche Design lineup. Bearing the model number P'9983, the smartphone will combine the company's trademark QWERTY keypad with a touchscreen, similar to what the manufacturer did with the Q10.

As we can see from the front image of the device, the Blackberry P'9983 looks pretty slick and ready to mingle with its metal-looking frame and unique edges.

In the report, the device is rumored topack a 3.5-inch display with unknown resolution, a dual-core CPU running at 1.7GHz, a whopping 3GB RAM which is pretty surprising given the seemingly midrange specs of the device, and a 64GB built-in memory.

The Blackberry 'Khan' is expected to be unveiled this quarter, probably in the coming weeks. However, the Canada-based manufacturer should be wary of the upcoming IFA event in Berlin where more Android competitors are coming. And of course, the ultimate competitor of all would be the iPhone 6 which is bound for a launch by mid-September.

Blackberry has been a doing a great job recovering from its near-buyout last year, and this year it has already launched several entry-level handsets in emerging markets where it still has some loyal fans.

Let's see where this momentum will take the Canada-based company.
