Cleveland Cavaliers Roster: Is This LeBron-Led Squad The Deepest Offensive Onslaught In The NBA Today?

Beginning last weekend, the Cleveland Cavaliers roster has become one of the most formidable teams in the Eastern Conference, if not the entire NBA.

The inclusion alone of Kevin Love has already made a big boost in the Cav's offensive prowess, but considering the previous moves of Cleveland during the off-season and we know that they are certainly eyeing an NBA title next season.

So let's break down what happened in the past months: LeBron comes home from Miami and lures in former Heat teammates Mike Miller and James Jones, team signs veteran Shawn Marion, trades its last two first overall picks and a future 2015 first round pick for Love, and is still waiting for veterans Ray Allen and Chauncey Billups to come on board.

All of the new acquisitions of Cleveland have one thing in common - they can score. And to think that this young Cavs team already has an All-Star point guard in Kyrie Irving and a consistent combo guard in Dion Waiters, the depth in the offensive department that Cleveland is now enjoying is simply unheard of.

Of course, nothing can be proven until the team begins playing together, but right now on paper the Cavs can easily match the offensive onslaught that the San Antonio Spurs can muster - without any consideration for coaching and gameplay.

Unfortunately, there is one thing that the Cavs lack - defense, and its improvement in that aspect is almost non-existent. The only capable defenders on the roster include James, Marion and center Anderson Varejao, but two of them are already more than 30 years old.

James can't defend the five positions all at once, so this new team should step up. If coach David Blatt is able to find a way to mesh all these talents to play cohesive basketball on both ends of the floor, the Cavs will surely be a tough team to beat in the upcoming NBA season.
