Samsung Galaxy Alpha specs: The newly launched Samsung Galaxy Alpha by the South Korean Giant sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 12MP camera, and the latest iteration of the Android mobile platform, the 4.4.4. KitKat. Under the hood it runs on a 1.8Ghz processor. The metal Samsung handset which the company unveiled August 13, 2014 maybe the first of a set of handsets it will be releasing this year.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be the first of three handsets in Samsung’s upcoming A series which it intends to announce in the coming weeks. Three devices would be part of the initial launch wielding the model numbers SM-A300, SM-A500, and SM-A700.

The Samsung-focused noted that these three handsets will be similar to the Galaxy Alpha, which has some form of metal in its construction, but featuring improved front cameras and may have higher res normal front cameras.

The speculation that there would be more upcoming devices like the Samsung Galaxy Alpha but better in specs led BGR to publish a story with the title, “Don’t buy Samsung’s metal Galaxy Alpha when it launches.” The site noted that users should probably wait a little longer before picking it up, because of this new upcoming devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be made available next month together with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a built-in 32GB storage and is not expandable with MicroSD. The 12MP camera of the handset is capable of recording videos in 4K display and the smartphone’s processor is powered with 2GB of RAM.

Battery life for the unit is supported with a 1600mAh pack. Dimensions for the newly launched Android smartphone are 5.21 x 2.58 x 0.26 inches (132.4 x 65.5 x 6.7 mm ), it weighs 4.06 oz (115 grams).

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is expected to retail for up to $830.
