Miami Heat Roster Adds Shooting Guard Shannon Brown, Adds Even More Depth To South Beach Squad

After all that Heat president Pat Riley has done with Miami Heat roster after the departure of LeBron James, it looks like he is still not finished yet.

In an attempt to further provide depth into the Heat lineup, Riley signed veteran Shannon Brown to a one-year $1.3 million contract as per USA Today's Sam Amick.

The 28-year-old Brown has not been the same the past couple of seasons and only averaged 2.2 points and 1 rebound on 36 percent field goal percentage per game. He has played 10-day contracts with the Spurs and Knicks in the past season, and ended with the Knicks.

Unfortunately, New York waived Brown last July which officially made him a free agent.

And because Miami needs someone to relieve Wade of the minutes whenever he sits down, coach Spoelstra can bring in Brown.

Known as a high-flyer, Brown has played well during his couple of seasons with Phoenix, playing as sixth man and averaging 10 points. However, the Knicks' changing system in the past two years surely did not help him develop into a more formidable threat.

In the report by Bleacher Report, it looks like Brown will not be the last player to be signed by the Heat. And while their rebuilding stage can be considered hurried and desperate, there could still be hope for this squad to re-enter the Eastern Conference Finals.
