Gionee Pioneer P4 Review: Specs Of Budget Friendly Android Handset Incl. 1.3 GHz Quad-Core Processor, 1GB RAM; Far From A Flagship’s Standard, But Delivers In Functionality

Gionee Pioneer P4 review: Specs of the Android Jelly Bean powered Gionee Pioneer P4 include a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor powered with 1 GB of RAM. The Gionee Pioneer P4 smartphone also has a 4.5-inch display with a 480 x 854 resolution and has a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera. It has a 1,800 mAh battery pack and has an initial storage space of 8GB.

The look, feel and under the hood features of the Gionee Pioneer P4 is far from a flagship’s standard, but it delivers in value what it lacks in features. A review by YouTube Channel Noypi Geeks notes that the device feels good in the hands and with its average size is comfortable to use.

In terms of storage, the Gionee Pioneer P4 provides ample room through micro SD support. It’s 8GB storage can be expanded up to 32GB.

Gadgets To Use says that the battery pack of the P4 claims to be able to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time on 3G and 16.5 hours of talk time on 2G as well as a standby time of 386 hours. The website noted though that there are many entry-level and mid-range smartphone segments that give superior backup, thus making the battery life and pack of the P4 low.

Similar to many budget handsets, the Gionee Pioneer P4 is a dual-SIM handset that runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. Connectivity options for the unit include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, 3G and micro USB.

Gadgets To Use pointed out that possible direct competitors of the P4 include the Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini A200, Panasonic P31, and the Xolo Q1000 Opus.

This handset is mainly offered in emerging markets and a quick search shows that it’s not available in the US.
