Swing Copters Accused By Ripping Off The Bog Racer Game! Did Dong Nguyen Rip Off Another Game?

After the Swing Copters game was released on August 21, another issue followed Dong Nguyen, the inventor of Flappy Bird and the Swing Copters.

As the Swing Copters recently launched, the developers at Open Name claims that the said game is a rip off of their own Bog Racer.

Below is the video of Bog Racer Game.

In the article of Pocket Gamer, the Pocket Gamer confirmed that they had received an email from Open Name, stating that Nguyen's Swing Copters game "heavily borrowed ideas from its one-touching driving game," which already available in June at App Store.

However, during Google's zeal on removing all clones of the Swing Copters game, the Bog Racer was trapped in a dispute despite it was released earlier than Swing Copters.

In the article of Pocket Gamer, Open Name wants to remove Nguyen's game from the app store, saying, "We will use all of our modest means to restore justice, and we intend to apply a request that Swing Copters be removed from the app stores. We are well aware that our chances are very slim, which is why we ask for the support of everyone who is partial to our cause."

Moreover, in the article of Ubergizmo, Nguyen made a statement in reply to their claims, "Swing Copters project is exist since February 2014. It names Kitty Jetpack at that time. You can see the screenshot of it on Rolling Stone magazine published in March 2014."

"I am sure this is a coincidence of two games use the same mechanism. But looking at game design aspect, these two games are different games," he added.
