According to Hollywood Take, "Last night's episode of Big Brother 2014 briefly gave us hope that Donny Thompson would be able to save himself from Week 9 eviction. When Team America got to create its own mission for the week, Donny tried to convince Derrick Levasseur and Frankie Grande that the task should be getting Donny off the block. It was a valiant effort on Donny's part, but Frankie in particular wanted nothing to do with that plan. Instead, Frankie came up with the ridiculous idea of putting on a play. Fans can now vote on whether that Big Brother Season 16 mission was enough to earn Team America $5,000. But ironically, Team America would have had a better chance to win had they actually tried to save Donny like he wanted. Instead, we emphatically that Team America should not be awarded for this mission."

"So the only hope for Donny was to win the Big Brother 16 Power of Veto competition. The Detonators realized that the annual Stay/Fold counting competition was imminent and came up with a plan to through the contest to Frankie. It failed spectacularly when Frankie went out in the first round anyway, but Head of Household Cody Calafiore saved the alliance and won the Veto. He was helped by Nicole and Donny's terrible strategy of folding after nearly every round. Cody then got our hopes up that he would make a big move and use the Veto to try and backdoor Frankie or Christine Brecht. But sadly, he chickened out, meaning Donny will almost certainly get evicted in Episode 29 of Big Brother 2014. And fellow nominee Nicole Franzel will likely follow him out the Season 16 door unless she can win the Week 10 Head of Household competition (or the Power of Veto)," speculated Hollywood Take.
