Los Angeles Lakers News: Veteran Forward Carlos Boozer Will Pace Lakers While Rookie Julius Randle Adjusts To NBA Gameplay

There has not been any exciting Los Angeles Lakers news this off-season aside from the fact that Kobe will be back with a vengeance and chase his elusive 6th title.

However, little do some fans know that acquiring veteran Carlos Boozer off from waivers is a solid addition to the Laker frontcourt.

Currently, there aren't many scorers in Los Angeles with Bryant and Swaggy P in guard positions. Lin can also be considered a scorer, but his primary role in this Laker squad is to move the ball and hit open teammates.

That is why Boozer joining the fold would be beneficial for LA at least at the start of the season.

While 6th pick overall Julius Randle is certainly brimming with talent, he has yet to play a single NBA game. The good thing about that is Boozer plays the same spot as Randle does at power forward, and with the time the rookie is still learning to play NBA basketball, the 33-year-old former Bull can help him.

In an interview with Boozer during his introduction as a Laker, he said he had watched Julius play in Kentucky and said that the rookie can definitely score, rebound and has a soft touch.

Surprise, surprise, that's exactly how we say Boozer several years ago during his peak with the Utah Jazz where he averaged almost 20 points and 12 boards a game, giving him two All-Star nominations during that stretch.

And now that he is with a new team, Boozer will definitely aim to prove his doubters wrong and point out that his performance last season should not define his NBA career.

If Boozer is able to turn back the hands of time, then the Lakers can have a solid front court with Ed Davis, Jordan Hill, and Randle taking turns throughout the season.
