A New Nikki Finke Book Is In The Works; Former Deadline.com Editor To Work With Old Boss?

A new Nikki Finke book is reportedly in the works, which suggests the journalist's comeback. But her getting back on track might mean rebuilding bridges, as she might reportedly be working again with her former boss.

The Nikki Finke book will be published by Simon & Schuster and its subject is something the journalist knows like the back of her hand: Hollywood.

Jonathan Karp, Simon & Schuster president and publisher, reportedly said that he will edit Finke's book and that "the book will be an event."

Just this week, Finke had been the target of an anonymous website that exposed some of the journalist's private information. By Thursday, most all of the website's content, which included insults allegedly : "We think we have made our point. Should it become necessary to add even more powerful content we will. Believe us, we have it."

The website's masterminds had not been identified.

Finke is not new to insider information about celebrities as she had made a name for herself by writing about them. She created Deadline.com in 2006 and was known to be a haven for people who are looking for celebrity scoops and gossip. The website also became popular because of Finke's style of writing.

While the Nikki Finke book has been confirmed, there is not much to learn about its specifics. There had been no announcement from Finke nor her publisher regarding the books' content and publication date.

In 2009, Finke sold Deadline to Penske Media. But in 2012, Penske acquired Variety magazine, which was a direct competitor of Deadline, causing Finke's resignation.

Finke started to write on her own website NikkiFinke.com and reported about Hollywood again, which goes against the agreement she made with Penske. Her last post on the website was written on August 11.

While all of these is ongoing, Fink was reportedly offered a job at Vanity Fair and the journalist appears to be piqued by it. Writing on her official Twitter account, Finke said of the offer: "Esteemed @jackshafer thinks I should 'pack up my act and bring it to DC.' Others saying the same thing. Should I?"

So far there had been no statements from both Finke and Penske.
