Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Microsoft Preparing A Triad Of Lumias In Pre-IFA Event In Berlin, Alleged Specs Include 5MP Front Shooters, Midrange Specs

Microsoft is a very competitive company and in spite Nokia's tradition of not joining the IFA event in Berlin every year, the Redmond giant may want to make things a little more interesting come the first week of September.

According to a report from GSM Arena, Microsoft and Nokia will unleash not one, not two, but three Lumias in a pre-IFA event, also in Berlin.

The first device will be the Lumia 830 which is a midranger that packs some high-end specs. Yes, you heard that right. While it only gets an HD (1280 x 720) resolution on an alleged 5-inch IPS display and a Snapdragon 400 chipset, the midranger will get a 20MP PureView camera just like the current Nokia flagship, the Lumia 930.

It is also interesting to note that the upcoming device will boast Microsoft Mobile branding at the back instead of the usual Nokia.

The second device which will also make an appearance at the event is the Lumia 730, otherwise known as Superman. It is also a midranger thas the same Snapdragon 400 chip, and gets 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory but a smaller 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution.

According to rumors, it packs a 5MP selfie camera in front, and a rather unusual 6.5MP rear camera. At the back is a 2,000mAh battery and 3G support with dual-SIM compatibility.

Lastly is the Lumia 735 4G, which is a version of the Lumia 730 that supports 4G LTE connectivity. According to the report, the handset will only come in a single SIM variant.

In the report, the Lumia 730 selfie phone may cost around $240, which is pretty good considering its design and midrange specs.

Recent reports say that Microsoft is slowly phasing out the Nokia branding, and that is certainly apparent in the leaked image of the Lumia 830.

Fortunately, the Lumia 730 and 735 both have Nokia logos at the back.
