While the project Johnny Knoxville will be doing with ABC remains nameless, The Hollywood Reporter suggests that it will be a comedy about a Southern family and will be heavily inspired by Knoxville's childhood. Reports also suggest that Knoxville will narrate the comedy.

The Knoxville autobiographical comedy will be executive produced by the "Jackass" star himself along with 3Arts's Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky.

Everybody wants to get their hands on Johnny Knoxville, it seems, as the "Jackass" star has also inked a two-year deal Paramount Pictures in May. This follows the success of the MTV series "Jackass," which showcased Knoxville performing dangerous stunts and pranks, which earned $335 million worldwide. "Jackass" ran for three seasons from 2000-02 and paved the way for more successful acting careers for Bam Margera and Steve-O.

Joining the ranks of comedy writers at ABC Studios including Sara Haskins, Dave Hemingson, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, Dan Fogelman and Emily Halpern, Knoxville's series in the works will be a breath of fresh air from the usual dramatic soaps of the network like "Once Upon a Time," "Revenge," and Shonda Rhimes's "Grey's Anatomy."

Johnny Knoxville's deal with ABC suggests an autobiographical trend in TV series in the future as reports claim that Fox has picked up an autobiographical series based on Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo's struggle with being famous and fighting it by going back to school at the peak of his band's popularity.
