Tom Clancy's The Division Release Date, Gameplay Trailer: Game Will Feature Tablet Controlled Drone, Ubisoft Has 3 Studios Working On Game [VIDEO]

Tom Clanc'ys "The Division" is coming, here is everything currently known.

At first there was some mystery as to what genre the game was, but after some recent hands on time it has been revealed the game is an RPG shooter.

There are branching skill trees of an RPG to tailor your character's abilities the way you prefer. Cover-based shooting is at the core of the action, much like "Gears of War." All other non shooting skills are secondary to this mode of play.

One interesting aspect of gameplay is the requirement to loot resources and build bases, to shelter in the post-apocalyptic New York setting.

The story follows characters from the city's "clean up" crew, who are tasked with ridding the streets of the bad, following a virus outbreak. Your mission is to make the place habitable again by any means necessary, and allowing the government to regain control.

Reports suggest the tablet gameplay, which allows a secondary player to co-op pilot a drone using a tablet. The game isn't fully playable on tablet, but rather it acts as a companion. The player pilots a drone that can heal those in the main game, highlight strategic areas and enemies, and much more.

Lazygamer got some hands on time with the game and had this to say, "The Division puts you in the shoes of one of the city's clean up agents, trying to return a freshly apocalyptic New York to being habitable once more. A pandemic virus has come along, killing most, leaving the city a shell of its former self. Richly detailed, a great deal of the story is told through emergent game play and the environment; fresh corpses piled up, abandoned homes, the world littered with debris, messages on walls. The narrative is also partially spun by an echo device, which shows memories of a place in 3D. The New York shown is huge, with a rather large mega-map showing just about everything. Each area is graded by three things; present security, level of contagion, and current morale in the area - and each will affect how missions there will play out, what sort of gear is required, and the sort of resistance you'll face."

Primarily, "Tom Clancy's The Division" was slated for release on the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2014. However, Ubisoft recently announced that the release date will be moved to 2015. There's no exact date for the release next year. It will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms only.

Right now, the game's development is being worked on by three studios, namely Ubisoft Red Storm, Ubisoft Reflections and Massive Entertainment.

Tom Clancy's The Division will have a released release date some time in 2015 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. Check back for more information as we get closer to the release date.
